General Contractors 2007 rankings illustrate the strength of
the construction market in Utah and Idaho. The majority of contractors
who submitted survey's this year increased their annual revenues
from the previous fiscal year. Information was gathered through
a survey we sent out via email and fax. Every effort was made
to contact every commercial general contractor in Utah and Idaho,
and to ensure the information is accurate.

Washington
Group International, Inc. (WGI) is by far the top revenue-generating
general contractor with headquarters in the Intermountain region
- revenues from 2006 topped $3.4 billion - and annually ranks
among the Top 10-15 construction firms in the nation.

Sandy, Utah
As a child whose father started a construction company in the
mid-50's,
David Layton always had an interest in the construction industry.
These days, as president and CEO of The Layton Companies, he
oversees the day-to-day operations of a firm that annually ranks
near the top - if not number one - of revenue-generating contractors
in Utah.

itself as the largest general building contractor in the state
of Idaho, with annual revenues having spiked the past two
years to a company record $261 million in 2006 - more than
double ESI's revenues from 2004 ($118 million).

Orem, Utah
Wilford Clyde grew up across the street from his grandfather,
W.W. Clyde, who founded the long-time heavy/highway general
contracting firm that bears his name more than 80 years ago.
He remembers working in his grandfather's garden as a boy,

a field laborer.
