This is a large medical campus totaling more than 355,000-sq-ft. The four-story, 46-patient bed Riverton Hospital campus consists of three buildings: 200,000-sq-ft inpatient hospital, which includes six operating rooms, imaging, emergency department, labor and delivery and acute care beds; an 80,000-sq-ft medical group building (medical office building), which is shelled space; a 75,000-sq-ft outpatient facility for Primary Children’s Medical Center, which includes four operating rooms, full imaging suite and a clinic.
The hospital campus includes a distributed antenna system in which all wireless technologies share the same antenna – a departure from traditional arrangements of an antenna for each wireless technology. The hospital is designed for energy efficiency. Lifecycle cost analyses were behind most of the choices made. A Building Automation System (BAS) will utilize building controls to their full potential and help to save energy and effort in operation. Project is slated for completion July 2009.
