Located in Northern Idaho about 40 miles north/northeast of Coeur d’Alene, this project includes two miles of new alignment along US-95 to create a three-lane highway with two southbound lanes and one northbound lane. The scope includes shoreline extensions involving dredging and sheet pile walls; six bridges, of which five — four vehicle and one pedestrian — are steel girder bridges and one is a lightweight fill structure; 17 mechanically stabilized earth walls totaling 130,000 sq. ft.; pedestrian walkways; interchange modifications, including new on- and off-ramps at each end of the project; and a railroad embankment for future rail expansion. Project will run through July 2013.
