The unique expansion and restoration/renovation of the old Ogden High School (built in 1936) calls for constructing additional buildings and creating a central plaza that will connect all structures. The first phase of work will include a new gym building located directly east of the auditorium, a cafeteria remodel and expansion; science classrooms (with wet labs), new music room, new black box theater, choir room, dance rooms, and broadcasting classes; building system upgrades.

The remodel includes a seismic upgrade to both the existing gym and auditorium. The new gym will have a second floor added and be remodeled to classrooms instead of being a gym. The seismic upgrade of the gym will consist of new shotcrete and cast in place concrete walls. The seismic upgrade of the auditorium will have new concrete shear walls also, but will also include center core shear walls to protect the historic finishes in the auditorium. Phase IA began July 2007 and will conclude in fall 2009. Phase IB kicks off in June 2009 and will take a little more than two years to complete, around fall 2011.
