This expansion project includes many different phases and when totally complete, will have added more than 100,000 sq ft to the hospital, as well as having renovated existing hospital service areas and enabling future growth. Layton has already completed an addition and renovation to the Emergency Room and a new 4-story patient tower addition. The new 97,000-square-foot patient tower is a three-level structure that features 10 additional critical care beds, 15 new beds in the ER, 88 new inpatient beds, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), two new operating suites, a new, fully automated laboratory and a redesigned outpatient cardiology center. Layton is currently working on the hospital’s Lab, NICU and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center Renovation and in the future will also complete a renovation to their existing lab into a cardiology services suite as well as an addition to the kitchen. The project is expected to finish by October 2009.
