This design-build project at Hill Air Force Base in Layton, Utah consists of a new, 71,688-sq-ft maintenance and painting complex for the USAF’s ‘Raptor’ fighter aircraft. This aircraft repair facility incorporates two fully integrated maintenance bays with ground power and hydraulic utilities, and upgrade and servicing areas. To ensure the full mission capability that “low observables” are maintained, three paint booths are provided as a part of this complex along with an administrative support area. Security to this aircraft maintenance and test center is in compliance with UFC 4-010-01 (Unified Facilities Criteria, DOD Minimum Antiterrorist Standards for Buildings). The project is aiming for a LEED Silver rating. Completion scheduled for July 2009.
