Top Specialty Contractors 2009

Intermountain Contractor’s 2009 Top Specialty Contractors list was compiled online by McGraw-Hill Construction’s survey specialists, and is based on revenues from 2008. All attempts were made to verify accuracy of this information, as well as to encourage specialty contractors of all trades in this region to participate in the survey.

  • The rankings are divided up into overall regional revenue, along with individual revenue totals from the states of Utah and Idaho. EMCOR Group, Inc.’s Salt Lake firm Wasatch Electric ranked No. 1 this year with combined regional revenues of just over $117 million, followed closely behind by Cache Valley Electric of Salt Lake at $114.9 million. Salt Lake-based CCI Mechanical ranks as the top mechanical contracting firm with revenues of $69.3 million. SME Steel of West Jordan, Utah is the largest steel erector/fabricator at a combined regional revenue of $63.4 million. Rounding out the top 10 specialty contractors in this region are Taylor Electric of Salt Lake ($62.5 million), Brahma Group, Inc. of Salt Lake ($43.5 million), GSL Electric of Sandy, Utah ($33.9 million), KK Mechanical of Ogden ($31.5 million), daw Construction Group, LLC ($31 million) and A&B Mechanical Contractors ($26.6 million).

    Perry Olsen Drywall of Sandy was the top drywall contractor at $15.4 million; IMS Masonry of Lindon, Utah claimed the top masonry contractor spot at $14.6 million in regional revenues; Grow Painting of West Jordan was the top painting contractor at $5.2 million.
