Karel Takes On a New Position at CSHQA
CSHQA,a Boise-based architecture/engineering
firm, announces that CSHQA communications engineer John
Karel will be taking on new responsibilities in the
Information Systems (IS) department at CSHQA.
Karel, a 1991 Associate of Applied
Science (A.A.S.) graduate of ITT Tech, has been with CSHQA
since 2001. His previous employers included System Tech, Inc.
and MIS Labs, Inc. His new responsibilities as a Computer
Aided Design (CAD) Lead/IS Specialist include solving CAD
related problems, working on CAD standards, performing CAD
training, and tackling IS related issues.
While at CSHQA, he has worked on the Idaho State Capitol Renovation
Project, the Idaho State Department of Transportation Optical
Fiber Project, Boise State University's Campus Optical fiber
Network Project, University of Iowa's Campus Optical Fiber
Network Project, and many other projects.

Reeve & Associates adds to professional surveying staff
Daryl Penrod recently joined Reeve & Associate's
surveying
department, as a registered professional land surveyor. Bringing
to the company 15 years of senior level experience, he will
provide additional technical support for an expanding workload
in the western United States.
In addition to field crews, the survey department boasts
seven registered land surveyors, three of whom are also professional
engineers. They work closely with the firm's engineering staff
to provide a full range of land development services for projects
throughout Utah, California, and Arizona.
This level of technical accreditation combined with 30 years
in business is fueling our rapid growth in the western region.
Based in Utah, Reeve & Associates is a multi-disciplinary
firm offering land planning, civil engineering, structural
engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services.

Architectural Nexus adds Education Designer
Architectural Nexus, a
principal architectural firm, today announced Lisa
Whoolery, AIA, has joined the Firm as a project architect.
She will be playing a key role on the firm's educational projects.
With nearly 10 years of experience, Whoolery specializes
in designing educational (K-12) buildings. She works with
educators and civic leaders to create buildings that not only
foster healthy learning environments for students, but that
also serve as community facilities.
Prior to joining Architectural Nexus, Whoolery worked at
Gillis Stransky Brems Smith (GSBS) in Salt Lake City for nine
years. Her past projects include Glendale Middle School, Bonneville
Elementary School, and Beacon Heights Elementary School.
Whoolery is currently serving as president-elect of the American
Institute of Architecture (AIA). Prior to this appointment,
she served on the fellowship and honors committee, chair of
the program chair committee and chapter treasurer. Whoolery
is also a member of the Council of Educational Facility Planners
International.
Whoolery received a bachelor's of science degree in 1993,
and master's of architecture in 1995 from the University of
Utah.
